DDA are really excited to be featured in the upcoming CCTV 10 Documentary “Legends of Martial Arts”, due for broadcast at the end of the year.

The documentary features a range of martial arts and martial artists in China, including traditional Chinese martial arts, as well as ‘European medieval weapons arts’ practiced by clubs around China, such as SHMA in Shanghai, which is run and attended by enthusiastic young practitioners.

The CCTV crew spent four days with DDA’s Rose Oliver, covering her life and work in Shanghai, filmed her teaching English classes at Shanghai University, and featured DDA community taiji classes and their children’s Tongbei classes, in addition to filming an in-depth interview with Rose at her home.

So looking forward to seeing the finished documentary, it was wonderful to be a part of the show, and see how much enthusiasm there is in China for martial arts, especially among young people!
